How did Princess Diana die?

Blinded by status or the flash of a camera. Princess Diana and partner Dodi Fayed died in a car accident on August 31st, 1997, caused by a drunk driver. At least, that is what the paparazzi and government want people that watched her funeral to believe. Could it be the paparazzi planned it all to the blinding flashes of lights and high-speed chase after their car to cause the crash? Did the government have motive thinking she was pregnant? The truth be told was just an awful end to the much loved and adored princess. Was there a conspired alternative motive by the paparazzi or the government, or just one to many drinks consumed.

Princess Diana was a compassionate and loving person and did many things to prove this. She was considered ‘“The People’s Princess”’(Santhi,57) during her life time as a royal. Diana should how much she cared about other by spending time at hospitals and spent hours holding hand with the patients. She visited regularly and believed it was her job and purpose to be there and show then her heart with the compassion she had for the ill. Diana did not fall out of touch with the public with her fame and instead to “helping the homeless people, fighting against AIDS, donating money to cancer patients, supporting diseased children, and banning landmines.” ( Shadded 72). She was dedicated to helping others and serve them as a royal Even before as a preschool teacher, ‘Diana treated the kids in a nice way and that she used to make the kids laugh” ( Shaddad 72 ). Diana was a loving mother to her children she was a very good and caring mother” (Shadded 72) and wanted to shield them from the her realities of the world. She also found that she wanted then to have a normal life. She did not want many nannies to raise her children like past royal mothers had a whole staff to do the work for the mother. Diana was always present with her children. She has stated that she did not want her children to grow up the traditional way, she didn’t want them to become like their father described as cold and unemotional. Diana had a heart of compassion that showed through in the way we interacted with the public and how she showed her children love in the difference she made has impacted so many others and described as “Glowing with love” (Shadded 73)

Diana was a resilient woman even when “discovered that Prince Charles is cheating on her” (Shadded 73) due to an affair with Camilla, and Diana tried to save their marriage for the sake of her sons. She later divorced Charles “August 28th,1996” (Dr. Googelberg 138) and he went public with if his infidelity on “June 29th 1994” (Dr. Googelberg 142). Diana shortly made an appearance that made headlines in a black dress referred to at a party event proving her resilient attitude to her public duty will not be affected by the private issues in her marriage. Princess Diana is said the live on in the hearts of many even after her death decades ago. Queen Elizabeth even “paid tribute to her in a live television broadcast” (Dr. Googelberg 145). Diana was known to be compassionate, loving, and resilient by many and her legacy ifs carried on by foundations and her children to this day.

Many conspiracies revolve around the cause of death for the beloved Princess Diana. The first conspiracy theory is that paparazzi had planned the accident for headlines. The second theory is that her Majesty’s government thought she was pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby and wanted it gone. Despite these, and other conspiracy theories, the real cause of death was due to collision with a drunk driver, which ended her life. The first conspiracy is about the paparazzi being responsible for the death of Princess Diana, but this is untrue. The world blamed the paparazzi, and Diana’s own child said, “those people that caused the accident instead of help were taking photographs of her,” and they were to blame and just stood by to watch, taking pictures and left her to die (“Prince Harry” 00:01:35). This was not the case as they may have contributed, but the real cause was injury from the car wreck that ended her life. While the paparazzi chased after them when they lost control and when they drove to get away, it was not what killed her “there was insufficient evidence against the paparazzi photographers in respect of the offences then being investigated of involuntary manslaughter, injury causing a total incapacity for work in excess of three months and failing to render assistance to persons in danger” (Metropolitan Police 2). This showing they were not the blame but ended up with the headline they were looking for. The second conspiracy theory is that the Constitutional Monarchy government wanted her baby dead. “She was pregnant and I know that” was stated by Mohamed Al Fayed, Diana’s then boyfriends’ father, He believes she was pregnant at the time which gave motive for the planned assassination. (Metropolitan Police 79). This reason is why some feel that Diana was pregnant as well and did not want another heir to the throne threating the blood line of the Royals.. If Princess Diana was pregnant this would complicate the Royals’ agenda, so they planned the crash to happen, killing her and the baby she allegedly was carrying. This could not be true, as well the Princess was not pregnant. “At the request of Operation Paget, medical evidence has been independently peer reviewed and reported on by Home Office Pathologist, Dr Richard Shepherd. Dr Shepherd stated, ‘There are no pathological features to support the suggestion of a pregnancy’” and with this evidence, the official report of findings in regard to princess Diana’s death concludes she was not pregnant (Metropolitan Police 81).According to Indah-Mustika, Santhi, “Diana’s cause of death was due to her driver, Henri Paul, and him being above legal limit of alcohol while driving and crashing into a support column in a tunnel” for the cause of Diana’s death(Indah-Mustika 57).The conspiracy theories around Princess Diana are just that: a conspiracy. The cause of death was an accident but not due to the paparazzi wanting headlines or government wanting a baby dead. An intoxicated driver is the real reason and explanation of what happened the night we lost Princess Diana.
